Joseph,

The price is pretty high because it is a precision made tool to make the Vitrobot reproducible with multiple tweezers. We had our workshop produce many cheap tweezers for all our users but unfortunately the mechanical alignment was all over the place, so I took all-but-one away and now our old Vitrobot Mk2 has somewhat good reproducibility again.

What our workshop did was basically what Bob described: just use the old tweezer as a model.

Once you start working with your new tweezers, the Vitrobot settings used so far may change significantly, you might have to adjust the blot-pad position/rotation and use different blot offset numbers.
