[3dem] cryoEM postdoc in Switzerland

A postdoctoral position is available to study the structure and infection mechanism of large bacteriophages infecting Gram-positive bacteria (Listeria, Enterococcus, etc.) using cryoEM. The position is part of a collaborative project of Jochen Klumpp (ETHZ), Takashi Ishikawa (PSI), and Petr Leiman (EPFL), which is aimed at detailed structural and functional characterization of these bacteriophages. Samples suitable for cryoEM studies are already available.
Starting date: As soon as possible.
Duration: The funds are currently available for 2 years.
Location: EPFL Lausanne (year 1) http://maps.google.ch/maps?q=bsp+415  and PSI Villigen (year 2) http://maps.google.ch/maps?q=psi+villigen , but can be discussed.
Equipment: FEI F20 (Eagle camera) at EPFL, and Jeol FS2200 with in-column energy filter (4k x 4k Gatan camera) at PSI, plus other lower grade instruments in both places.
Salary: Very high, EPFL/ETHZ scale.
Required skills: Experience in all aspects of cryoEM, strong publication record.
