Ahh. I understand. Eman2 will read the Fei mrc files, but I don't believe we ever back ported to eman1. They are not generally readable by software that handles generic MRC files. With eman2:

e2proc2d.py file.mrc file.hdf 

should produce something boxer can read, without losing the extra metadata. I suppose we should update the reader for eman1 as well. It's very frustrating when companies take it upon themselves to change established standards, even if only slightly.
