Dear Ed,

In light of the anticipated difficulties you mention, we recently went the easy way and got a Zalman M240W (for use with polarized glasses). Good thing: nothing else needed (both Chimera and Coot have the appropriate stereo options) - not so good thing: pretty limited vertical viewing angle and resolution is only 540 lines vertical. But it's OK for most things and there's no flicker (no headaches!).
