[3dem] Catalog of Reconstruction Artifacts?

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a resource (e.g. PPT slides, book chapter, online
tutorial, etc) that documents the artifacts that can occur during
reconstruction of tomographic tilt-series? I'm looking for something that
will help the non-user recognize that something is wrong. We've all seen
illustrations of increasing the number of projections, and the effect of
increasing the missing wedge. I'm looking for something more comprehensive.

How to recognize when you have a bad center of alignment?
Will you see glaring artifacts if the tilt angles are grossly inaccurate?
What can reconstructed gold fiducials tell you about your reconstruction?
What happens when you go too many iterations with a SIRT reconstruction?
etc.

Thanks in advance,
Mike
