the management of instruments and development of new methods. Project areas
include the study of protein complexes, viruses, and cells
by single particle analysis, crystallography, and/or tomography.
Excellent facilities for electron microscopy are available including a
120kV cryomicroscope and a 300kV field emission gun microscope (G2 Polara).

Applicants should have postdoctoral experience, a strong record of research
in biological cryomicroscopy, a background in instrumentation for microscopy,
and good communication skills.

TWO POSTDOCTORAL SCIENTIST POSITIONS

We are offering 3 year MRC funded Career Development Fellow positions, which
are training and development positions for post-doctoral scientists who have
either recently completed their doctoral studies, are moving into a new
research discipline, have limited previous experience of key transferable
skills, or are clinically qualified with little or no research experience.
They provide opportunities to develop research project skills and
collaborative links with colleagues within the Institute and elsewhere.

You should be highly motivated and have a strong background in structural
biology. Previous experience in electron microscopy, image analysis, X-ray
crystallography, or protein expression and purification will be an advantage.

Excellent facilities for biochemistry, light microscopy, computation, and
electron microscopy are available, including a 120kV cryomicroscope and
a 300kV field emission gun microscope (G2 Polara).
