My lab seeks to understand, on the molecular level, the mechanism of
translation and translational control by cryo-electron microscopy of
functional ribosome complexes, both in bacteria and eukaryotes. Several
postdoctoral positions (both HHMI and NIH) are available. Background
should be in one of the following areas: ribosome biochemistry, RNA,
computer modeling, image processing. The new EM facility at Columbia
Medical Center will comprise FEI F30 (Polara) and F20 instruments. In
addition, access is available to the EM facilities of the New York
Structural Biology Center, three subway stops away.

Please send CV and the names of three references to Tornubari Barinee
(tb2319 at columbia.edu, fax 212 305-9500, phone 212 305-9512).
