[3DEM] Post doctoral position at MRC Virology Unit Glasgow

Dear Colleagues,

A post-doctoral position is available within the Medical Research 
Council Virology Unit to investigate viruses and virus-infected cells 
by electron-cryomicroscopy and 3D image reconstruction, working with 
myself and Dr Frazer Rixon.

The MRC Virology Unit has an established programme of structural 
biology research employing electron cryomicroscopy and image 
reconstruction to study a range of viruses including herpesviruses, 
paramyxoviruses and picornaviruses. We shall shortly be taking delivery 
of a JEOL 2200F (200 KeV, FEG, in-column energy filter) equipped with a 
4k Gatan CCD and a high-tilt cryostage.

The MRC Virology Unit is based in Glasgow, the largest city in 
Scotland. Located close to the west coast and at the foot of the 
highlands, Glasgow provides ready access to some of the most 
spectacular countryside that the UK has to offer. Glasgow also has a 
vibrant and cosmopolitan cultural life, with an excellent nightlife, 
and world-class museums and art-galleries.
