POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS

STRUCTURAL BIOLOGY

Two postdoctoral positions are available in our laboratory in the Dept. of
Structural Biology at Univ. of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Our research is
mainly focused on structural analysis of macromolecular assemblies using
various cryo-EM and image analysis methods, including electron tomography,
single particle analysis and electron crystallography. Area of interests
include (I) mechanism of clathrin-mediated endocytosis and (II) architecture
of chemoreceptor networks for signal transduction in bacterial chemotaxis.
Dept. of Structural Biology is equipped with state-of-the-art EM equipments
for cryo-EM studies, including a FEI Polara 300kv helium stage with a 4kx4k
CCD camera, a TF20 FEG with a 4kx4k CCD camera, a T12spirit, and a FEI
vitrobot for specimen preparation. The department also has protein
expression and purification facilities. Qualifications include a Ph.D. and
an interest in the structural biology of complex molecular assemblies.
Experiences in electron microscopy, image processing, and cell
biology/protein biochemistry are desirable. Wages will be comparable to the
NIH standard. Interested candidates should send a CV including areas of
expertise and interest, publications list, and names and contact information
for 3 references to Peijun Zhang at pz at nih.gov.
