The Maurice E. Müller Institute for Structural Biology at the Biozentrum in 
Basel, Switzerland, seeks a highly motivated

   PhD Student

for method development and numerical implementations of image processing 
algorithms in the field of electron crystallography of biological 
macromolecules. The candidate should have a solid education in physics, 
computer science and/or applied mathematics. An in-house C++ image 
processing framework is available for software implementation. The position 
is funded by the 6th European Framework for 3 years, and is available 
immediately.
The thesis may be performed under the auspices of either the Biozentrum or 
the Department of Computer Science at the University of Basel, resulting in 
either a biophysics or computer science PhD.
