Postdoctoral Research Associate*
Wellcome Trust Centre For Cell-Matrix Research
Ref: 279/04
The Wellcome Trust Centre for Cell-Matrix Research is an
interdisciplinary research centre embedded within the School of
Biological Sciences at the University of Manchester. The Centre was
established in 1995 with the long-term aims of elucidating the structure
and function of extracellular matrices, cell-matrix adhesions, and cell
signalling pathways, defining the contribution of cell-matrix
interactions to human diseases, and developing approaches for preventing
and treating these diseases.
Applications are invited for a postdoctorate research associate position
to join a research group integrated into the Wellcome Trust Centre for
Cell-Matrix Research. The project focuses on the 3D reconstruction of
fibrillin microfibrils using cryo-electron microscopy and image
analysis. You should have a PhD in a relevant biological science,
ideally with practical experience in cryo-electron microscopy and
protein chemistry.
Appointments are made for one year in the first instance and, upon
successful completion of the probationary period, are available for a
further two years. The position is funded by the Wellcome Trust and the
starting salary is £23,293 p.a., including 2 Wellcome Trust enhancement
points.
