The National Center for Macromolecular Imaging will be hosting a
4-day single particle reconstruction workshop from March 16-19, 2005.
This workshop will include a set of lectures on image processing theory
and a series of practical sessions including performing single particle
reconstructions using EMAN, analysis of determined structures using AIRS
and visualization/animation production using Chimera/EMANimator. For the
practical sessions, participants will be provided individual PCs with
accelerated 3D graphics. Practical session registration will be limited
due to computer availability, so please register early. There will be no
registration fee. Participants will be responsible for their own
travel/hotel, though we may be able to offer some support to those
who could not otherwise attend. The workshop will be held at the Texas
Learning and Computation Center at the University of Houston with support
from the Agouron Institute.

Register through the NCMI website at:

http://ncmi.bcm.tmc.edu/ncmi/events/workshops/workshops_7

To get a general idea of the topics to be covered, material from our
last single particle workshop is available at:

http://ncmi.bcm.tmc.edu/ncmi/events/workshops/workshops_19

There has been substantial progress in the field over the last two years,
so the practical sessions will be completely new, and include a
reconstruction of GroEL to subnanometer resolution as a demonstration
problem.

Deadline for registration is January 15 !
